When your AC quits, getting it fixed shouldn't be the hard part

Here's what usually makes it worse.

It breaks at the worst possible time

Your AC always seems to give out on the hottest day of the year, and that's exactly when you need someone who will pick up the phone and actually come out.

You call around and nobody picks up

You start calling the places that say they're available 24 hours, and you keep getting voicemail while the house only gets warmer.

You can't tell who's being straight with you

One company tells you it's a quick fix and the next says you need a whole new system, when all you want is an honest answer about what's actually wrong.

We find the real problem and fix it, without the pressure

Family-owned since 2005, serving Selma and the San Antonio area. Your comfort is our priority.

We answer our phone

We pick up the phone, get you on the schedule, and show up when we say we will. We're here from 7am to 7pm, with someone on call around the clock for emergencies.

We send technicians, not salespeople

Our technicians figure out what's actually wrong and tell you what it will cost to fix. If a $300 repair takes care of it, that's what you'll hear, not a pitch for a $15,000 system you don't need.

You approve the price before we start

You'll know exactly what the repair costs before we begin, and nothing gets done until you give us the go-ahead, so there are no surprises on the bill.

What we repair

We handle air conditioning and heating for homes and small businesses across the San Antonio area, on every major brand.

Air conditioning repair

If your AC isn't cooling, keeps shutting off, has weak airflow, or your bill suddenly jumped, we'll track down the cause and tell you what the fix costs.

Heating and furnace repair

Whether your furnace or heat pump won't start, can't keep up, or runs loud, we work on gas, electric, and heat pump systems.

Thermostats and controls

If your thermostat won't hold a setting or won't talk to your system, we'll test the controls and fix what's off.

All major brands

Whatever brand you've got, our technicians have worked on it, so there's no need to track down a specialist.

Signs it's time to call for AC repair

Some problems can wait for a regular appointment. These usually can't. If you notice any of them, it's worth getting a technician out before a small issue turns into a bigger one.

The air coming out is warm

Your vents are running but the air isn't cold, or the house just won't reach the temperature you set.

There's barely any airflow

Air is only trickling out of the vents even with the system running full blast.

It's making strange noises

Banging, grinding, squealing, or rattling usually means something has come loose or is wearing out.

You smell something burning or musty

A burning smell can point to an electrical problem, and a musty one often means mold somewhere in the system.

It keeps shutting on and off

If the system short-cycles every few minutes, it's straining itself and the problem tends to get worse fast.

There's water or ice around the unit

Pooling water or ice on the indoor unit usually points to a drainage clog or a refrigerant issue.

Not sure how serious it is? Give us a call and we'll help you figure out the next step.

How a service call works

Here's what happens after you call.

01

You give us a call

Give us a call and tell us what's going on with your AC or heating, and we'll get a technician scheduled to come take a look.

02

We diagnose and show you the options

Our technician looks over your system, figures out what's actually wrong, and walks you through your options with the price up front.

03

We fix it on your approval

Once you give the okay, we make the repair and get your system running again. Nothing happens until you approve it.

Our AC broke down at the end of August. AirPro got their technician out quickly - he located the source of our problem, explained everything to me and repaired the problem in record time. Sorry for the late review but I just want to make sure say thanks and we definitely recommend AirPro.

Paul was our savior! Our air conditioner started to not cool right around 9pm. I called a few places that stated they were 24 hours but they didn't answer. Paul did, and noted how much it would be for the service call at night. We opted to have him come the same evening. So thankful he did! He fixed the issue within 30-45 minutes and we were able to sleep peacefully that night.

Fast friendly service! My AC unti at my home stopped working the day before the 4th of July weekend and we thought we would have to go without ac for the weekend in the hot Texas heat. Air Pro cooling sent a technician named Paul to our home immediately who was very friendly and courteous and fixed our ac problem. Highly recommend this great company!

Repair or Replace?

How do I know when it's time to replace my AC?
Common signs include: your unit is 10–15 years old, you're scheduling frequent costly repairs, cooling performance is declining or uneven across rooms, energy bills are rising despite normal use, the unit is making unusual or loud noises, or your system still uses R-22 refrigerant (which has been phased out and is expensive to source). A qualified technician can inspect your system and tell you whether repair or replacement makes more sense.
How long do air conditioning units typically last?
Air conditioners typically have a lifespan of 10 to 15 years, depending on maintenance and usage. If your unit is nearing or past that range, it's worth considering a replacement even if it's still running.
What are the signs my furnace or heating system needs replacement?
Watch for: your furnace or boiler is more than 15 years old, frequent repairs and rising energy bills, uneven temperatures across rooms (some too hot or too cold), humidity problems, excessive dust in the home (often from leaky ducts), or noisy operation. A professional contractor can assess whether repair, duct sealing, or replacement is the right call.
